The world is changing so fast, yet spirituality in Bhutan is still a way of life. Bhutan is home to some of the most celebrated Buddhist sites in the Himalayas. Bhutan Spiritual Trek to the land of thunder dragon will comprise complimentary talk on Buddhism & meditation and will be guided by spiritual experts. According to Bhutanese tradition, the history of Bhutan began in the seventh century AD when the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo constructed the first two Buddhist temples: Kyichu in the Paro valley and Jampa in the Choekhor valley in Bumthang. It is believed that in the eight century, a tantric from Swat (in present day Pakistan) arrived in Bhutan. His name was Padmasambhava but he is largely known in Tibet and Bhutan as Guru Rinpoche, the 'Precious Master'. Here, as in Tibet he introduced Tantric Buddhism. He is considered by the Nyingmapa religious school (pa means school or sect) to be their founder and the second Buddha. All the places he visited and in which he meditated are places of Pilgrimage for the Bhutanese, who also worship his Eight Manifestations in almost all the temples in the country.

The flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. One can see the Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Makalu and other peaks in Bhutan such as Mt. Chomolhari, Mt. Jichu Drakay, and Mt.Tsherimgang. Upon your arrival at the airport we will assist you to the hotel. Stay overnight at Hotel.
Perched on the side of the cliff at a height of 900 m above Paro valley, it is the most sacred place. Then we trek down to valley and drive to the Drukgyal dzong (fortress) for sightseeing. Afterwards we drive back to Paro and stay overnight at hotel.
Then we visit the Kyichu temple one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo. Afterwards we return back to our hotel. At the evening you can roam freely around Paro town. Stay overnight at hotel.
We check in to our hotel and walk around the National Memorial Chorten built in 1974 in honor of the late King. Then we move forward to visit Zilukha Nunnery where the nuns meditate and practice Buddhism. Finally we visit the Changankha lhakhang to offer butter lamp. Stay overnight at Hotel in Thimpu.
Today after driving About 14 miles from Thimphu, the road comes to a dead end at the foot of a mountain where Chari monastery built in 1619 is located. We visit Chari monastery and the Tango monastery. The Tango Monastery dates back from the 13th century but it was rebuilt in its present from in 1688 the "Divine Madman", Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Then we drive back to Thimpu in the evening and stay overnight at Hotel.
Today we drive to Punakha the old capital of Bhutan crossing the Dochu La Pass (3050m) and the winter residence of the Central Monk body. On the way we enjoy the superb view of the highest peaks in Bhutan, such as the Gangkar Puensum, table mountain, Jeje Khang and Masakhang Gangchey. Stay overnight at hotel.
Today we drive to visit see the beautiful Punakha dzong (fortress) built between the confluences of two rivers the Pho (male) river and Mo (female) Chu. Then we take a short walk to the Chimmi Lhakhang temple of the Divine Madman Lam Drukpa Kuenley. And we visit the Khamsum Yuelley Chorten– temple built by the Queen of Bhutan for peace and stability in this ever-changing world. Stay overnight at hotel.
Commanding the Mangde Chu at an altitude of 2,200 metres Trongsa Dzong is the most impressive Dzong in Bhutan. Built in 1644 by the Shabdrung, the dzong is an architectural masterpiece. Then we continue our drive towards Bumthang. This is one of the most spectacular valleys in Bhutan and also the heartland of Buddhism. Stay overnight at hotel in Bumthang.
Today, it's a pilgrimage tour for you; your first stop is the Jambay Lhakhang, built in the 7th century by the King Songtsen Goempo of Tibet. Then we take a short visit to Chakhar Lhakhang which is short distance beyond Jambey. Then we continue our pilgrimage tour and visit the places of historical cultural and religious importance like Kurjey Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang and Jakar Dzong. We enjoy the natural beauty all around the whole day. Stay overnight at Hotel in Bumthang.
Firstly we drive to Mebartsho 'the flaming lake' in the Tang valley. Then we visit Visit the Kungzandra Monastery which is one and half hour walk from the road. Finally we return back to our hotel. Stay overnight at Hotel.
We walk about four hours towards north from Ugyen Choeling to reach another monastery nestled into a cliff that appears to block the Tang valley. After enjoying amazing landscape and natural beauty we return back to our hotel in Bumthang. Stay overnight at hotel.
On the way we stop by to visit the Gantay Goempa, which is perched at the top of a small hill that rises from the valley floor. After seven hours of drive we finally reach Punakha. Rest and stay overnight at Hotel.
We stop by on the way and visit Tachogang Temple. Then we continue our journey towards Paro. The drive is short and you will have about half of the day to visit freely and go for shopping in Paro. Stay overnight at Hotel.
Today is your departure day. We will assist you to the airport prior to your flight.
