'We took our 6 month old baby on the Poon hill trek with Landmark Discovery Treks. As we had the baby we were a little nervous but the team at Landmark took absolute care to secure the safety of our family. They understood what was an unacceptable risk and advised accordingly.
Shiva was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and friendly. I really enjoyed my days with him. Although we were trekking for 5 days as part of a bigger 5 week trip we felt we could rely on Prem and Landmark discovery for advice throughout our time in Nepal. They picked us up from the airport and welcomed us to the country.
Excellent, I can’t recommend enough.

My husband and I spent 7 days in Nepal, we did a trekking to Poon Hill , day tour in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Prem arranged everything for us as well as a porter during trekking. Excellent view from guesthouse and delicious food. We spent our precious moment on Poon Hill for the amazing sunshine reflected on snow mountains. Day tours in the city were good too, we explored the tradition of Nepalese, not much site in our cultural tour was affected by the earthquake in April.
Nepal is definitely a lovely place that made us relax as much as we want. Things are in low price with very good service. We decided to revisit again next year.

Prem is a wonderful Nepalese man living in Kathmandu who can arrange all your Nepal vacation needs from your accommodations, transport, itinerary suggestions to being your actual trekking guide. He is experienced, speaks English, patient, reliable and a man of integrity. I am a single women traveller and he made sure I was well taken care of and safe at all times. I would recommend him for all solo travelers to feel safe with. He even invited me to lunch with his lovely family in their home. Please use this man for all your trekking needs

Landmark Discovery Treks was recommended by a friend whose family members and friends contacted every time they went to Nepal (and they went more than once). The guides know the mountains like their own backyard. They are reliable and made you feel protected so we didn't have to worry about anything except how to have fun. The trip was well planned and reasonably modified according to weather changes and our fitness level and conditions. They are sincere, experienced and always asking us how they do so that they can improve. If I go again, I'll certainly go with them!

Never forget the Nepal trips
My first and second Nepal trekking were arranged by Prem, he is a competent and responsible tour guide. During the pre-journey planning and in the course of trekking, he always shows his professionalism in mountaineering. You have nothing to worry about the detail arrangement of the trip and just enjoy the scenery and his services provided. Nepal is wonderful place to carry out trekking activities. Its beautiful scenery and different level of trekking route is suitable for all but a reliable tour guide like Prem is required to help you to arrange everything.

My husband and I organized a day tour of Nagarkot, Changu Narayan and Bhaktapur with Prem Panta from Landmark Discovery Treks before travelling to Nepal. While organizing this tour, Prem responded quickly to all emails and inquiries and offered us a really great and detailed itinerary for the day at a very reasonable price. Prem and the driver picked us up from our hotel on time, very early in the morning. Prem is a very friendly, pleasant person and an excellent and very knowledgeable guide. He was able to answer all our questions during the tour and he always made sure we were comfortable.
Our tour started off with a drive to a lovely hotel and restaurant on a hill to watch the sunrise over the mountains. We really enjoyed this breath-taking view, drinking delicious coffee and having breakfast at the restaurant afterwards. After this we started our hike through small villages and farms and forests. It really gave us a feeling of how the local people live, going about their day, cooking food next to their homes and we even tasted some locally made wine. The views of the terraced farms and mountains along the way were spectacular. We also visited temples, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and witnessed an impressive local festival involving smoke, singing, drums and women dressed in beautiful red clothes. It is sad to see the earthquake damage in some places, but there are still so many beautiful buildings and other things to see and friendly, kindhearted people to meet in Nepal.
This is a great day tour to do if you are interested in culture, local people and nature. I would highly recommend Prem Panta and Landmark Discovery Treks! Thank you for a great and unforgettable experience!

We've chosen Landmark Discovery Treks as they gave very good insight on what their trekking includes by email and phone. During our trekking numerous external things were linked with our wellness and enjoyment, but one of the most important ones were the staff members of the Landmark Discovery Treks Prem, Badri and Mahesh. It was great to be able to prepare for the trekking 2 days before with Prem as well as the guide he found for us for the Kathmandu Sightseeing. Once we were in Badri and Mohesh's hand we felt welcomed, helped and so it was great spending 2 weeks with them. We were very pleased with the services they have provided as they followed the itinerary that was sent to us by email, but also managed to individualise our experience by taking in consideration our wishes, preferences, abilities and dietary requirements. I would very sincerely recommend you this company as they do numerous treks and work things out in order to ensure you have a fantastic holiday and joy of fulfilment. If this is your first time to visit the Himalayas prepare yourself as it is very likely you will keep on coming back.:)

I have just returned after completing the trek to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp with Landmark Discovery Treks. This company is run by Prem and Badri Panta. Badri was my guide and this was the fourth time that he has been my guide. He did an outstanding job of taking care of me.The trip was great with scenery starting in lush jungle and rising to 5200 m. with snow covered peaks and glaciers. If you are looking to get away from the crowds on the more popular treks I can highly recommend Kanchenjuga and Landmark Discovery Treks.

My friends and I did a 10 day trek altogether for the Upper Mustang with Landmark Discovery treks. We had a wonderful time with our guide Bhadri and 2 porters Ghaila and Ganesh. Not only did Bhadri give lots of insight on the culture and lifestyle of the people living in the region, he was also very attentive to the welfare of our whole group. One of my friends had a mild case of AMS on the first few days, but recovered quickly thanks to the medication given by him.
A strong and patient man, Bhadri doubled up as a porter and carried our bags when one of our porters unfortunately fell ill and had to be sent back home halfway during the trip. Nevertheless, he still maintained a good pace during the trek, leading us on, and patiently waited when one of us lagged behind.
All in all, the service provided was excellent throughout, with all our guides and porters tending to all our needs in the best possible way. I highly recommend Bhadri and the rest of the crew for any of the organized treks from Landmark Discovery.
This Upper Mustang trek was undoubtedly the best trekking experience I have had so far with magnificent landscapes and unspoiled natural beauty. I will most certainly be back in Nepal for another incredible experience.

I know Landmark Discovery Treks in my previous trip in October 2013 when we hired them as our trekking organizer to ABC. We had 14 people, 1 guide and 7 porters in our group. I was impressed by our tour guide Shiva because one of my friend had knee pain and cannot walked fast, Shiva followed her side by side all the way during the entire journey without any pushing even some of the days we walked after sunset. One of my friend got behind the trek and lost in the first day, Shiva was searching him at night with torchlight until he found him. Shiva is a quiet person but he is very humble, patient and caring. We have a wonderful and memorable trip and this is the reason I chose them again in 2016 for my second trekking trip to Upper Mustang.

Anytime you book something on the internet from another country you are very worried that you may show up and were scammed, especially when you compare prices from a US based company for the same tour and the local company is so much less. Well this company is legit. From the time I landed to the time I took off Prem was there the entire time. He was always looking out for my well being at all times. He was always checking with me to see if he could do anything else. The trip was very well planned and he knows all the owners at the place we stay. The other thing that really surprised me was that the tour was just for the 3 of us. There were plenty of other travelers to talk to each night but during the day we could do our own thing. We happen to be very fast hikers so we were able to go our speed. I plan on going back soon and doing another trek with Prem and plan on bringing some more friends. For the money this is the best value I have found in all my travels for such an awesome adventure. Feel free to contact me if you want a first hand rating glennz@mowermeter.com

First time in Nepal, such a beautiful and welcoming country. Loved the simplicity of how people live and go by through their days. Landed in Kathmandu to a very welcoming ambiance at the airport. to shortly after get picked up by our tour guides. Driven to the hotel while going through our tour plan of 4 days and 3 nights detailing all the activities we will be participating in. Prem was so helpful and concerned making every bit of our trip as comfortable and went out of his ways many times to ensure our trips ends up worth our money. a lovely first night spent at a very cozy, clean and quiet hotel with a thunder storm just adding to the thrill of the trip. The next morning, and shortly after a very nice breakfast, we took a domestic flight of 25 minutes to Pokhara, which our next stop. After lunch, we started our trek up to
Dampus camp. The trek took around 3 hours blessed by a very cool breeze and drizzling weather which made the scenery even more majestic and beautiful. Reaching Dampus camp, we settled into a very cozy hostel where we spent the night after a nice "family-like" dinner with the owners of the hostel. Next morning, we started on our way down back to Pokhara city where we were checked into a very nice hotel with view of the snow mountains at times when the skies were clear. We toured various parts of the city that were considered as attraction and spend the rest of the day just walking around. The nest day, we took an 8 hours bus ride from Pokhara back to Kathmandu, which was a real adventure not to be missed. Last day was our tour in Kathmandu. lots of history, heritage and interesting stories about the facts of many many touristic sites and temples, escorted by a very knowledgeable and information rich guide.

I have always dreamed of trekking in the mighty Himalayas and witness its beauty. Landmark Discovery Treks made my first trekking experience in Nepal very unforgettable. The arrangement they made in terms of the choices of hotels, food, lodges (throughout the trek), transportation etc made my journey comfortable yet still adventurous at the same time. Badri was an experienced, reliable and knowledgeable guide. I was so glad to have him as my guide! Ganesh, the happy-go-lucky porter was very helpful to us as well. I would definitely recommend Landmark Discovery Treks to those who wish to experience the wonders of Nepal!

Our group of three people booked a 16-day tour with Prem Panta from Landmark Discovery Treks for April 2016. We had a great trek and Prem was very helpful and considerate throughout the trip, especially when I fell sick.
After living and working in Nepal for a year, I knew that there hundreds of trekking companies and guides, and many of them do not take into consideration guests' own interests or safety. Prem is the opposite. Prem is a good people's person and he really understood when to give us our own space when walking through the amazing landscapes. He is also very patient as we all three are nature conservationists and the boys in particular spent (almost too much time) identifying birds!
I can highly recommend Prem and Landmark Discovery Treks.

My brother and I just got back from a 2 week trip in Nepal with Landmark Discovery Treks. Our guide Badri and our porter Ganesh were amazing from start to finish. We did the Tsum Valley trek which was a very intense hiking experience, and Badri's expertise of the land was helpful as well as how he always made sure we were well fed, had a nice hot milk tea and any extra blankets we needed as the weather got colder. Badri and Ganesh were always in a good mood, even when we were tired and sore from all the walking and kept us in good spirits. This trek had some perilous moments where the path had severely disintegrated since last year and crossing one of the passes was extremely difficult. Badri and Ganesh guided us across and ensured our safety. If you are planning a trip to Nepal, do yourself a favor and book with Landmark Discovery Treks. ( and be prepared if you go on the Tsum Valley trek for 18 miles on average a day on difficult uneven terrain)- the views are miraculous so its worth it, just know what you are signing up for.

My brother and I booked this trek with Prem at the last minute. He organised everything to last detail and ensured that the trek lasted as long as we were in Nepal! To that end he suggested that we trek the Tsum Valley in addition to Manaslu Trek This was an inspired suggestion as this is a lovely unspoilt valley.
This is certainly a family business with this brother Badri the guide and his cousin Bose our porter. Both were excellent travelling companions for the 18 days. All in all it was a memorable experience and I would certainly recommend Landmark Discovery Treks.

I have known Prem and Badri Panta since 2008 and applaud them on taking the bold step of opening a new, post -earthquake, company: dedicated to offering more intimate day tours and longer treks designed to offer ‘landmark discoveries’ of all that makes Nepal such a friendly, engaging and fascinating destination. Prem and Badri’s attention to detail is excellent, from airport arrival collection to permit details and the adjustment of trek itineraries to suit our interests and levels of fitness.
On the latest (October 2014) of four treks with Prem (and one with Badri); I with two ‘newcomers’ spent a memorable day with him in Kathmandu exploring its landmarks and byways before heading to the Tsum Valley – Manaslu Circuit Trail. This is a demanding trek with rich cultural and scenic rewards that passes through numerous Hindu and Buddhist communities.
The restricted region permits offer seven days in the Tsum Valley and on the upper Manaslu Circuit. The problem with these time constraints is that without a knowledgeable and sensitive guide much of the cultural – spiritual richness of the region can be missed. The recently opened Tsum Valley was a unique highlight. Its gentle upper valley exuded a quiet charm that I have not experienced on other trails before: a warmth and tranquillity that belied the hard work of its inhabitants who eke out a living in the short, high, growing seasons.
Numerous monasteries, nunneries and impressive dark slate chortens dot this pastoral landscape. Our advantage was Prem’s knowledge of the region and his sensitive insights into what would interest us most. Also, his advice on “what to see when” on the up and down route maximised our experience with a variety of activities on each day.
The Manaslu section of the trail is equally great and the scenery more spectacular, making this a fantastic overall trek. Sincere thanks also went to Sudip and Ganesh, our ever smiling and attentive porters.
During these three weeks together I could see the change in Prem’s thinking; the desire to subtly add more “insight value” and detail to a trekking experience and so was not totally surprised to discover his ‘landmark move’ to setting up the new company to deliver on these core values. I wish both he and Badri and their team continued success in this venture and heartily recommend that you ‘test my praise’ by booking a trek with them

I finally decided to make one of my childhood dreams, trekking in Nepal, come true.
Landmark Discovery Treks was recommended to me by a friend - a Finn I met in Cape Town who lives in Kathmandu - and for a good reason. Prem who runs the office is very responsive communicator and really makes an effort the meet all your needs and requests. During our (a friend of mine living in Kathmandu decided to join me sort of last minute) 16 day trek we were extremely well taken care of as Badris attention to service and detail was superb. We also thoroughly enjoyed the happy and good spirit Bardi (our guide) and Ganesh (our porter) brought along singing and laughing. I also wish to embrace their good English skills compared to some others guides we met en-route.
Top 5 tips I would give to people planning to do Tsum Valley & Manaslu Circuit are:
1. Wear layers. In late Feb / early March it was freezing cold at night.
2. Bring snacks. Definitely dried meat if you are a meat eater (there is no meat available).
3. A good book. Some of the days are quite short.
4. Open mind. Plus wet wipes. It does get uncomfortable at times. Due to gas shortage we didn't have a hot shower in 15 days and washing with cold water in freezing temperatures was just a bit too much.
5. Learn to say something (in addition to namaste) in Nepali. My friend knew some and that made a huge difference when spending time with locals.
I'd like to encourage everybody to visit Nepal now. Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley are perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. I can highly recommend Landmark Discovery Treks and Panta brothers (Prem and Badri).

Prem was an absolute star throughout the trek. Everything went off without a hitch. I'm generally sceptical about guides as I find they bring their own agenda to the trip and seem to think that their brief is limited to showing the client the trail. Prem is not this at all and really added value to our trek and would add value to any other trek in the region that does not require a compulsory guide.
He is attentive when staying at tea houses, knowledgeable and informative on the trail, and an all round pleasure to be around. The days were well planned with a good balance between challenge and comfort. He's building his knowledge of the local birds and forest types so it will be good to travel with him again in a while for an even more enriched experience.

The guide can make or break your whole Nepal trip, especially on a 3-week trek. Thanks Prem for my best trekking experience ever!
From the planning phase, Prem and his team were uber-professional: quick response to queries, accommodated numerous date changes, arranged quality/cheap equipment hire and found the best deals to buy new equipment in Katmandu. So far so good, but it was in the mountains that his real value-add shone through. He was sensitive to the daily vibe of the group and didn’t push his own agenda onto us. He managed our expectations well without undermining that feeling of exploration. He was very aware of our health and watched us closely in the high mountains, ensuring we drank and ate enough, and carried all the medication we needed. He told us stories about the customs of the local ethnic groups and Buddhist history. A patient gentleman, Prem has obviously earned the trust and respect of the teahouse families with whom we stayed along the 16-day Manaslu & Tsum Valley trek. He’s known most of them for years. Some even invited him into the kitchen to add some welcome variation to the usual Dal Bhat dishes! Strong enough to carry two full bags when someone was struggling, he is also humble enough to clean up a messy room before you arrive, and an unforgettable guardian angel when I got sick. We’re already planning our next multi-week trek together!
I have confidently recommended Prem to my mother's hiker's club for their first trip to Nepal, including a multi-week trek and exploring Katmandu.

I did two group trekking in Nepal, first in Poon Hill and Ghandrul Circuit in Mar 2012 (10 days), and second one in Langtang in Oct 2013 (11 days). Both were group of 10 plus people.
When we did the first one the weather was wonderful. We did sight seeing in Kathmandu on day 2. On day 3 we left Kathmandu for Pokhara. When we walked our way up (day 4 to 5), we have tea in different tea houses in Hille, Ghoreoani… which made the journey very relaxing and enjoyable. We went up to Poon Hill before dawn and watched sunrise in Annapurna (day 6), it was amazing. When we return, we passed through a forest in Tadapani and village in Ghandruk (day 6 & 7). Because of the sunny weather, the landscape looked very beautiful. Overall speaking this trip suits any trekkers.
The Langtang one was more challenging because of heavy rain, but trekking along the Langtang River surrounded by the Tibetan mountain ranges was still worth the effort. Luckily the weather was good when we return. On day 3 we left Kathmandu for Syabru Besi, which was an eight hours' drive! The trek began on day 4 and we arrived Lantang on day 5, all allong Langtand Rvier, We walked passed deserted windy area and crossed several streams, not big ones but due to heavy rain some were knee-deep. On day 6 and 7 we stayed in Kyanjin Gompa and went up to Tserki Ri and reached the foot of Lirung Glacier. On day 8 & 9 we headed back. Luckily the weather was good.
Both trips were guided by Prem Panta, who is now running Landmark Discovery Treks, and his assistances. Prem and his team were very knowledgeable, well prepared and attentive. I and my friends were in good hand.
We felt sorry for the earthquake in Nepal earlier in this year. Some of the places we visited were ruined. I wish everything will recover soon. When I have time, I will do trekking in Nepal again.

A group of us from Cape Town,South Africa have trekked on 2 seperate occassions with Prem Panta, owner of Landmark Discovery Treks, namely the Annapurna circuit (with a side trip to ABC),Langtang and part Helambu circuits as well as Everest base camp. Each trip involved around 3-4 weeks trekking. We all experienced his kindness and consideration in making both treks a memorable and long lasting experience. Prem was able to organise a clean warm place each and every night for us to sleep and eat at.We also never got lost once due to his exceptional guiding skills. When one of us had a issue of some sort, Prem was quick to alleviate the situation and restore calm. His knowledge of the Himilayas is without doubt first class and contributed to our exceptional and fairly priced experience overall. Our friendly, willing porters ensured all we carried from day to day was a small daypack with water and camera therein. Our group would not hesitate to call on Prem again when planning to trek in Nepal. He thus comes highly recommended.

A good experienced tour guide is important when trekking in Himalayas. This was my third times trekking in Himalayas with Prem, my tour guide from Landmark Discovery Treks. As before he has well organized our entire trip, including all airport and hotel transfers, meals and accommodation in the mountain, rental of trekking tools, etc. I am glad that we could completed our journey safely with Prem and his porter team’s help. Especially thanks Prem’s help, as I was well cared under the symptoms of altitude sickness.
The trekking was fantastic with the magnificent views and picturesque landscapes, especially all along with those snow-capped Himal, Langtang and Tibetan range mountains. Although the Gosaikund Lake was frozen, it provides another different taste of the splendid view. Anyway you won’t regret even the trek is not easy. As the trail passed through different road conditions, including dense forests, frozen stream, muddy road, knee-thick deep snowy road, slippery ice road, climbing up and down with all those zip-zap road, etc… Thank goodness that all of us could safety completed our entire trek finally. And that’s why I said a good experienced tour guide is important. We will never forget all those experience and photos that we had!! Amazing!!
I would highly recommend anyone to cooperate with them to enjoy the trip in Himalayas, as well as Kathmandu/Nepal.

We spent amazing 30 days in mountains with Landmark Discovery Treks. They prepared the whole trek according to our requirements. We wanted to start in Tsum Valley, continue to Manaslu Circuit and after that continue to Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake. Prem (the owner) prepared for us the itinerary and he was very quick with his answers and always helpful. Thank you Prem for your perfect coordination.
It was long 30 days trek and we were only 2 persons so we were a little bit nervous in the beginning. But everything was absolutely without problems. We had excellent guide Ganesh, who was always helpfull, friendly and it was a lot of fun with him. The same was our porter Prem. Thank you guys, you were both perfect!
Our guide always chose very good and clean hotel which provided very good food. We had privat room for two persons everywhere and sometimes, when there was the possibility, we had a privatbathroom. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner included and we also got some fruit (there are very good sweet apples in Nepal :)), biscuits, chocolate bars... it was wery nice from them.
Our guide took care of us all the time. Sometimes there were some dangerous areas with falling rocks and stones, frozen or narrow path, but we were always safe. The price was also very reasonable.
We can highly recomend Landmark Discovery Treks for everyone who wants to experience so amazing trek in Himalaya mountains as we did. Thank you!!!

We travelled to Nepal from the 1st of November to the 13th 2016. We contracted guide, transportation and trekking to Poon Hill to Prem and his team (Landmark Discovery Treks) via internet due to their excellent reviews in TA. From the first email to the very end of the trip, customer service was excellent. They were fresh, attentive and always looking after our happiness. They totally succeeded. We highly recommend their services and we look forward to repeat the experience by visiting other areas of Nepal very soon. Namaste!
