We had a mother and daughter trip in Nepal in the beginning of September 2018. After talking a friend who used Landmark Discovery Treks before, we contacted Prem right away and picked the Poon Hill Trek. The trip was far exceeding our expectation. Four of us did not have any trekking experience, our guide, Badrie, our porters, Bhoz and Krishna were great in helping and encouraging us. The view was spectacular with snow mountain, rice field, forest, water falls, villages and nice local people...This is going to be a special memory forever. I first contacted MrPremPanta three months ago via email and he was helpful and reliable to communicate and to organise a trip. He has a good team in Nepal and he arranges best hotels, buses etc for visitors. He also helped by organising transport for a trip from Kathmandu to Chitwan and then Pokkara (at no additional cost!). He has customised our trip as per our requirements. Our guide Mr.Badri was very patient and helpful while we were climbing uphill.He has good knowledge about the Annapurna Ranges and he explains well in English. We really enjoyed our climb and the Annapurna ranges. It was our first trekking experience and it was worth it. We highly recommend Landmark Discovery Treks!

This is a relatively short and easy trekking trip if you don't have much time to spend in Nepal. Views from Poon Hill is breathtaking, definitely worth waking up at 5am to climb up for the sunrise. I went with a friend in mid Dec and was able to appreciate the snow mountain, the sunrise, the forest, the water and much more all in one.
Service provided was great. Our guide has his way to push us out of our comfort zone while trekking but at the same time taking care of our safety and other needs such as hot shower. He paced and planned everything for us so we didn't really need to worry about anything. Most importantly, he and our potter were very motivated to provide good services to us.

Prem was extremely helpful and responsive before we arrived in Nepal. He met us at the airport, checked us into our hotel and sourced all of our hiking equipment. He tailor made an itinerary to suit our needs which included white water rafting on the way to Pokhara (lots of fun) and a 5 day Poon Hill trek.;
Our guide Ganesh was amazing. So knowledgeable, thoughtful and fun to travel with. We will always remember the times spent playing cards in the tea houses before dinner as well as mittosyeow! Ganesh always got us a comfortable room with hot showers and excellent views. Our porter, Ram, was super human and allowed us to enjoy the view without struggling under a huge load.
We have done a lot of solo travel in SE Asia but really enjoyed having Ganesh to take care of the logistics while we enjoyed a very relaxed introduction to Nepalese hiking.

They made sure to arrange our trek, rafting and day tours within our limited time on a very affordable and budget friendly as it could be. They made sure everything went as planned in the itinerary as well as making sure that we are comfortable with the trip, food recommendations, travel tips and enjoyable. They were also flexible at the best timings we can maximise our holidays. It was a tiring trip but with our limited time, they were also was able to adjust that we have relaxations in between. My friend and I did the 3 day Poon Hill trek with Landmark Discovery Treks.
We talked with Prem via mail and he even came to our hotel quite late to discuss our small trek. He was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed. Prem wasn't just friendly, the service he offered was incredible! :-) He dropped us off at the bus to Kathmandu, made sure our guide Rajesh picked us up in Pokhara ànd afterwards he made sure we got back to the airport in Kathmandu. He checked in after our trek just to make sure our view from the Poon Hill had been good! Also, it was very clear from the beginning what was included in the price (almost everything!) and what not, so no misunderstandings could take place.
We did our trek with Rajesh, a great guide who is friendly, funny and very helpful when needed. We felt very comfortable and we really liked playing cards and talking together! Even though he could run up and down the hill a 100 times in the time we climbed it once, he had a lot of patience and told us to go "slowly, slowly" or "bistari, bistari" :-)
We would definitely recommend Rajesh and Prem! Thanks for everything!

My friend and I did a 3 days Poon Hill Trek. Since we are just staying in Neapl for a week. Our plan is to travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara on the 22nd, then start the trek right after we arrive, and then hike for another 2 days and arrive back to Pohara on the 24th.
We contacted a lot of agencies and they all say it is impossible for us to start the trek on 22nd. Landmark Discovery is the only agency said it is possible. Prem is super fast in replying emails. He specially arranged us to take the public bus, which leaves early in the morning. We ended up arriving at Nayapul at about 4pm and arrive to the hostels at around 7 something.
The hike is easy, and all the arrangements (transports, food, accommodations) provided by Prem are excellent. Our guide, Rajeswor also took good cares of us along the trek. His explanations are also clear and detailed.
We are very impressed by the whole service provided by Prem and his team!

Prem (landmark discovery tours) was the best!! We brought our kids, age 8 and 11, and Prem and his team was so good to us! I found Prem through trip advisor and knew that it would be a great trip, but it was even better than expected. He planned an absolutely unforgettable 10 days in Nepal. It’s s Family business and we got the opportunity to do a trek (poonhill trek) for 6 days/5 nights, with three of Prems top guides and porters, who also happen to be his cousins and nephew. By the end of our trip we felt like we had a few new family members of our own. Everything, and I mean everything, was perfect...from the 2 days touring Kathmandu, to the 6 day trek, all of the accommodations, transport to and from airport, and to/from Pokhara, welcome dinner, reccomendation for restaurants that were good, etc. An experience we will never forget!

Once we had decided that the Poon Hill Trek was the one for us, I made contact with around 15 different companies to try and find the best company to go with. About half didn't reply to my email at all and of those that did, Prem (at Landmark Discovery) was by far the most helpful, patient and informative. After many more questions from myself, it was an easy decision to go with Landmark Discovery. Communication right up to and throughout the trip was excellent and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Everything was on our terms - dates, start and finish points etc.
The walk itself was fantastic - we consider ourselves to be fairly fit and quite quick moving so we reached each overnight destination early/mid-afternoon with time to spare. Badrie (our guide) and Bhoz (our porter) were good fun, always game for a laugh and even joined in our beer drinking fun of an evening! Badrie took us to many great places to eat and went out of his way to make sure we had food and drink, that we were comfortable, that we were happy with the trip - he couldn't have done more to help. Bhoz never stopped smiling no matter how heavy the pack on his back, no matter how fast we went or how much he was sweating! They were (and are) a great team!
We had great views at the Summit, the weather was perfect, the skies were clear (trip was in early January) and we would not hesitate to use this company again and would recommend Landmark Discovery to anyone and everyone thinking about doing any kind of trek anywhere in Nepal. Prem is a fountain of knowledge and knows everything about everywhere. See you again Landmark Discovery team for the Everest Base Camp trek!

Anytime you book something on the internet from another country you are very worried that you may show up and were scammed, especially when you compare prices from a US based company for the same tour and the local company is so much less. Well this company is legit.
From the time I landed to the time I took off Prem was there the entire time. He was always looking out for my well being at all times. He was always checking with me to see if he could do anything else. The trip was very well planned and he knows all the owners at the place we stay. The other thing that really surprised me was that the tour was just for the 3 of us. There were plenty of other travelers to talk to each night but during the day we could do our own thing. We happen to be very fast hikers so we were able to go our speed. I plan on going back soon and doing another trek with Prem and plan on bringing some more friends. I travelled to Nepal for the first time in December 2014. This is an overdue review but better later than nothing :). I travelled with my buddy Ryan and being the chilled out people that we are, we were not expecting all that much. My uncle had recommended Prem Panta from Landmark Discovery Treks as he had used their services 6 months prior to my trip and i took up their services based on his recommendation. Our trip began in Kathmandu before flying to Pokhara to begin our journey on the Annapurna circuit. We were blown away by Prem's attention to detail and overall service. He was organized, punctual, easy to reach and always smiling and good natured.
Food wise, being Malaysian, we were keen to try the local food and Prem brought us to some top notch local restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Along the trail, we were also keen to eat what they ate and we had some awesome dal-bhat and other local treats. Without fail, he would make sure that he oversaw our needs before his and was very gracious the entire time. Things can get pretty busy in the teahouses and having a guide to look out for you was great as it puts you in a more relaxed state of mine without having to worry about whether there was going to be any mixup in your food order or having to wait a long time due to the large groups of people walking in at the same time expecting to be fed. We felt blessed travelling with someone who knew a lot about the local culture and we could ask lots of questions about village life and he was there to act as the interpreter. Although i was armed with my lonely planet guide, nothing can beat the up-to-date and localised information a guide can provide you. Some of the spots he brought us to see the sunrise were also off the beaten path and not in the guides. Such is the knowledge of a local guide.
As we were hiking in the winter time, Prem also provided us with jackets and sleeping bags and i must say that their equipment was top notch. He provided us with North Face jackets (which i think was modified to include more insulation) and it helped a lot as my own jacket was not as warm as i thought it would be. He also provided us with hiking poles which helped a great deal (i couldnt be bothered to pack my own poles from malaysia).
Little details like booking rooms with toilets (some places maybe have 3-4 rooms with attached toilets; while the rest are shared) or booking certain rooms that have the best views, ensuring that there were sufficient blankets, knowing what time to begin our journey to beat the crowds, stories about the trail, being able to communicate with the locals... are in my view, the benefit of having a local guide. i feel our overall experience was greatly enhanced as compared to going at it on our own. Having peace of mind and putting some of the responsibility on him allowed us to just enjoy the trip and take great photos, joke and laugh and have a drink at the end of the day.
So all in all, it was a fantastic trip and i highly recommend their services.
..Now i need to plan the next Nepal trek for 2016..

I booked a trip with this company based on a recommendation from my partners friend. We were put into contact with Badri who gave us expert advice and helped us to create a personal itinerary We decided to trek the Annapurna circuit from Dharapani to Jhomson and then take a flight to Pokhara. Every correspondence was replied to promptly and we were well prepared for when we arrive to meet Badri at the airport. He was to be our guide on the trek and from that moment on we felt completely relaxed throughout our trip. We also met one of the heads of the company Prem who briefed us on the itinerary again and answered any more lingering questions.
We were then introduced to our porter Ganesh who was also fantastic. He was funny and warm and we felt very much a family with him and Badri by oursides. The trek itself was breathtaking from start to finish. Everyday brought new incredible views and cultural experiences. The scenery was beautiful as were the people. We saw things that were so inspiring that it's hard to accurately convey them with words. We saw all of this under the guidance of Badri and Ganesh who catered to our every need and who also gave us privacy when requested. They kept us safe at all times whilst providing expert hospitality and the very best accommodation available. Each place we stayed was clean and warm and mainly with ensuite (nepalese ensuite) which was different from other trekkers we spoke to who said they were jealous as their tour company had essentially provided a roof. Our meals were excellent and filling as again Badri had suggested what to eat at each chosen rest point. We were always full and ready for the next day of trekking.
We also felt what great value this company was considering what things we saw and experienced and they are very flexible with what can be arranged which I think was perfect for us as we only had 13 days in Nepal.
All that's left to say is; just go with these guys. This will be one of the best decisions you will ever make. Thank you guys for an unforgettable experience and a personal thanks again to Badri and Ganesh for making this such a life changing trip. We can't thank you enough!

Trekking in Annapurna Circuit is amazing & unforgettable. Though the trek is challenge and tough for me, but it is fun, beautiful sunrise, incredible scenery and cultural experience are well worth for it. Without the well planning and preparation from Landmark Discovery Terks, our 9 days trekking trip will not be that smooth, enjoyable, safety and memorable.
Prem and his team well organized everything and give us all useful tips and advice before we arrived at Nepal.
Badri was an experienced, expertise, reliable, patient and knowledge guide. He took care everything of us like his family during the trip. Well arrangement on meal, accommodation and trekking route, let us felt completely relax and safe throughout the trip.
Our porters, very helpful and professional, they are fantastic, fun, warm and work hard.

There is no way I can adequately thank you for good and careful guiding to get us over Thorung La and the Annapurna circuit giving us an insight on Nepal's religions, traditions, cultures , customs.
Looking after our health making sure we are fit enough to carry on the next day taking us to the best tea house and making us feel at home there. Always doing more than we would expect. Want to wake up surrounded 360 degree by majestic snow mountains? Want to see how the morning sunlight paints the summit of Annapurna I in gold and gradually, calmly crowns the Annapurna South? Is the effort trekking to Annapurna Base Camp worth it? Sure it is.
The ABC trek is very well known and popular. Our group of 10 left Hong Kong for Kathmandu in the evening on 24th Sep 16. We traveled by air to Pokhara on 25th in the afternoon and enjoyed nicely our evening there. Our Trek to the ABC started on 26th, through Quimi, Jhinru Danda, Chomorong, Sinuwa, Deurali and Machhapuchhre Base Camp, we reached ABC on 29th and stayed overnight. Then we got back to Pokhara on 2nd Oct 16. So basically we did a 7 days’ trek.
Unlike the Poon Hill or Langtang treks we did before, this ABC one demands more walking up and down hills, in particular between Sinuwa (2250M), to Deurali (3000M). Having said that, trekkers having the ability to walking 5, 7 hours a day with light backpack will find the trail and scenery very rewarding. From Deurali to MBC to ABC, basically the trek goes up gradually.
No only trekkers will find the Annapurna range spectacular, they will also find the forests, the valleys, the rivers, and the highland trails very fascinating. Like other popular treks in Nepal, along the ABC trek there are many tea houses and lodges.
Again, our old friend Prem Panta organized our trek. Prem guided us to Poon Hill in 2011 and Lantang in 2013. Now he runs his own business the ‘Landmark Discovery Treks Pvt. Ltd.’. He and his assistant, together with 5 porters, most of them are familiar faces to us, once again ensured us a trouble-free, very satisfactory journey.

I know Landmark Discovery Treks in my previous trip in October 2013 when we hired them as our trekking organizer to ABC. We had 14 people, 1 guide and 7 porters in our group. I was impressed by our tour guide Shiva because one of my friend had knee pain and cannot walked fast, Shiva followed her side by side all the way during the entire journey without any pushing even some of the days we walked after sunset. One of my friend got behind the trek and lost in the first day, Shiva was searching him at night with torchlight until he found him. Shiva is a quiet person but he is very humble, patient and caring. We have a wonderful and memorable trip and this is the reason I chose them again in 2016 for my second trekking trip to Upper Mustang.

Trekking to Annapurna Basecamp with Landmark Discovery Treks was a great experience. Our guide, Badri was helpful and welcome us well since our first day of arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal. During the trekking days, they had served us well by providing us good meals, water, accomodation and warm blankets. I had problem with my left knee near the end of our expedition, Badri was patience waiting for me and willingly carried my backpack to ease my movement. Because of that, Badri had showed his concern by arranging us an earlier transportation back to Nayapul from some where after Chomrong. There was a porter with us too, who was also helpful and strong.

We went to ABC with a wonderful guide Ganesh and porter Ram.
The tour that Landmark Discovery offered was very reasonable even all inclusive(high-quality equipment for trekking such as a jacket, a sleeping bag, and a climbing stick, full meal during trekking and full accommodation during a stay in Nepal).
It was an awesome experience. Our guide Ganesh always took care of our health and our safe during trekking. He was a very experienced guide, he kept his best to make our experience better.

I had finished three wonderful holidays in Everest Base Camp (ABC) Trek, Poon Hill Trek and Lang Tang Trek with my Friends from Hong Kong and Mainland China for the past few years. All the trips were organized by an experienced guide leader, Prem Panta. Nepal is a great country for trekking; the culture and scenery are splendid. During our trekking in Nepal, we had very good scenery of high mountains, beautiful ethnic lowland villages and terraces. The trekking offered many magnificent Himalayan mountain views.

Was my 4th times to do Mountain Trekking with Prem Panta (the Owner of “Landmark Discovery Treks” and the professional Trekking Leader). This time I went with 9 friends from both Hong Kong and US. As usual, the overall arrangements, including lodging, meals, porter-support, local transportation and air-flights (between Kathmandu and Pokhara) were EXCELLENT. Depending on your first day trekking speed + weather forecast, Prem could planned ahead of the following days’ wake-up time, length of morning + afternoon trekking periods and the most relaxing lunch breaks. Watching the snowing mountain range, listening to the fast running water sound and breathing the fresh cool air under the blue sky. Whoever wants to “unplug” yourself and release all the working/living pressure, do plan to do a mountain trekking in Nepal. Great service while booking and during trek with Prem (owner) and Ganesh (our guide) as well as the porters that helped lug our stuff up to ABC. Prem was quick to respond to all my questions before we booked as well as all the time leading up to the trek (3 months from booking to the trek). I have an amazing and perfect 9 days ABC trekking trip with my 2 friends and Guide Ganesh, porter Ram and Bhoj. I am so blessed and lucky to choose the right company and having a great team which made my Nepal’s trip unforgettable.
Ganesh is so friendly and always taking good care of us, also the porter Ram and Bhoj, we are like family throughout the 9days, we call each other “dede”(Sister) and “vai/ dai”(brother). We are so satisfied of their services, Ganesh never left us behind, always manage the time well and stay behind us.
He is so knowledgeable as well, knowing the place well and knowing how much up hill and down hill we need to go! On the way to MBC and ABC, it was super slippery due to the snowing the day before, I didn’t have crampons with me, so it was difficult, But Ram gave me the socks to put it on my shoes to make it better! I really miss the time when we were in the mountain, playing card, laughing, chatting, taking good care of each other like we are family!
They made our trekking trip a lot easier because we trust them in full and it wouldn’t be the same without them, Thank you! See you guys next time in EBC hopefully!! As a 65th birthday present to myself, I elected to go trekking in Nepal. Unfortunately my planned companion became ill and could not come. Accordingly I went by myself. Prem was very helpful in setting this up, and willing to take me as an individual. Trekking with his brother Badri and our porter was a pleasure. At all times I felt safe and well taken care of. They had picked the most "luxurious" tea houses. Some even had electric blankets! From airport pick up to airport drop off everything was handled by Landmark Discovery Treks. Prem had recommended November as the best month for good weather, and we had perfect sunshine. I feel his vast experience made my trip the trip of a lifetime that I will never forget. Been planning this adventure for a few months, after emailed over dozens of trekking companies, I came across Landmark Discovery Treks. Prem (owner) was very quick to response to all my inquiries and the price was very reasonable. Prem is also very accommodating, he was happy to follow my itineraries and weeks leading to the start of the trekking, I wanted to change the trekking dates, with no question asked, Prem rearranged everything for me. I was well looked after from the arrival to departure in Kathmandu.
During the trek, I was well looked after by my guide, Mahesh. He always made sure I have enough to eat and always there to give me advices as what to eat to help reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Accommodation was basic but very cleaned and sometimes with bathroom attached so that was a bonus! I have to thank Mahesh for helping me carried extra things when I really struggled.
So thank you Prem and Mahesh for the amazing trip.
