Everest Gokyo lake and Gokyo Ri trek are designed allowing sufficient time to explore Ngozumpa Glacier, the biggest glacier of world and Gokyo Ri itself standing at an elevation of (5,330 m). Gokyo Ri Trek starts after the scenic flight to Lukla airport from Kathmandu. Gokyo Ri trekking instigates from Phakding and make a way to Namachebazzar, Phortse Tanga, Machhermo and finally reaches to Gokyo. This optional trek to classic Everest Base Camp trek is enriched with natural fresh water lakes with an elevation of 5,000 m , world’s highest known freshwater lake. We also get mesmerized with the shimmering 4 or 5 lakes among 6 of Gokyo lakes- 3rd lake Dudh Pokhari, 4th lake Thonak Tsho and 5th Nagazumpa Tosho.  Gokyo lake is also famous pilgrim lake in Everest region which carries a great religious importance for both Hindu and Buddhist. Furthermore, we visit the ancient monastery on Tengboche which allows us to know the insight of local art, culture, and religion.

Gokyo Ri trekking itinerary basically focuses on sufficient acclimatization period so you get enough time to visit the famous touristic destination of Everest region like Namche Bazaar, Phakding, Sagarmatha National park and many others. It takes roughly about (12-14 days)  to complete the entire Gokyo Ri trek starting from Kathmandu to Gokyo lake.
