Try wafers and coffee in newly opened shop at Namche. The shop is located just in front of SPCC office. The owner named Phurba Lama is very friendly person. To add more, you can try different international cuisine which you don't expect to get in the middle of mountains.

Mountain experts suggest to halt at least 2 nights for proper acclimatization at higher altitude. You can see many local school along the trekking trail to Everest Base Camp. The schools are very small and offers very poor learning facilities. You can visit the school and teach the modern way of learning. If you wish, you can donate school uniforms, books and foods which might be small for you but immense for local students.
During the trek, you will encounter many children begging for something to trekkers. You can give some chocolates but don’t give money; it motivates them in begging.
It is huge accomplishment to reach the base camp of world highest peak at a daunting height of 5,364m. Don’t forget to bring your national flag and place it at BC. Your country’s flag at one of the highest point on earth is itself a pride. Also write your name on a stone nearby the flage; so that it remains forever in memory.
The local porter accompanies you from Lukla and their job is done after they assist you to the base camp and lead you back to Lukla. You will notice how difficult it is to carry heavy stuff and trek all the way to 5,364m.
