I used Landmark Discovery Treks based in Kathmandu who organised my entire trek to Everest Base Camp. This included meeting me at Kathmandu airport, transport to the hotel which was included in my trip cost, provided high altitude sleeping bag & down jacket, cultural evening dinner, flight to Lukla and all tea house booking and meals. I had my own very knowledgeable guide, Badri and porter, Tej. I only had to carry my own day pack. Trekking on one’s own has advantages mainly because you can walk at your own pace and be flexible with your itinerary if needed, for example needing an extra acclimatization day, etc. It is advisable to have your own guide rather than trekking entirely on your own – bad weather can move in quickly, easy enough to lose your way and there are missing people listed on the trek route with financial rewards offered by the parents. I can sincerely recommend Landmark to be your trek guides – they are highly efficient and extend exceptional care on their client. I was presented with a bowl of hot water in my private room each morning for shaving and washing. They even provided a hot water bottle at night which was a lovely bonus. There are two highly experienced Himalayan trek brothers who own the business, Prem and Badri Panta and can be contacted at: email@example.com. They provide useful information of the various trek routes on their web page. I can strongly recommend them to arrange your Himalayan trek and you will be surprised at their competitive all inclusive fee. Prepared by Sakkie Meeuwsen, South Africa/Isle of Man.
My husband and I spent 7 days in Nepal, we did a trekking to Poon Hill , day tour in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Prem arranged everything for us as well as a porter during trekking. Excellent view from guesthouse and delicious food. We spent our precious moment on Poon Hill for the amazing sunshine reflected on snow mountains. Day tours in the city were good too, we explored the tradition of Nepalese, not much site in our cultural tour was affected by the earthquake in April.
Nepal is definitely a lovely place that made us relax as much as we want. Things are in low price with very good service. We decided to revisit again next year.
made a quick booking of my trip a month and a half before with Prem and he managed to arrange everything including the domestic flight to lukla.
I have to stress that you need to train for the treks whichever one you choose. I only did my training hiking up and down the local trails after i made my booking. Also walked up to my 12th floor apartment at least 3 times a week. Even with that, i was still out of breath but Prem made my treks easier by helping me to pace, slowly but surely. He ensured that he was with me all the time. Thanks Prem!
Everything was arranged well from the hotel in kathmandu to the wonderful teahouses along the trekking route. There was a slightly longer route that wasnt included in the package which Prem highly recommended. I was glad I took it coz the views were amazing although I was hesitant at first coz i had to trek more.
Take your time, stop and savor the view, take your pictures. Its the journey that counts and not the destination!
A good experienced tour guide is important when trekking in Himalayas. This was my third times trekking in Himalayas with Prem, my tour guide from Landmark Discovery Treks. As before he has well organized our entire trip, including all airport and hotel transfers, meals and accommodation in the mountain, rental of trekking tools, etc. I am glad that we could completed our journey safely with Prem and his porter team’s help. Especially thanks Prem’s help, as I was well cared under the symptoms of altitude sickness.
The trekking was fantastic with the magnificent views and picturesque landscapes, especially all along with those snow-capped Himal, Langtang and Tibetan range mountains. Although the Gosaikund Lake was frozen, it provides another different taste of the splendid view. Anyway you won’t regret even the trek is not easy. As the trail passed through different road conditions, including dense forests, frozen stream, muddy road, knee-thick deep snowy road, slippery ice road, climbing up and down with all those zip-zap road, etc… Thank goodness that all of us could safety completed our entire trek finally. And that’s why I said a good experienced tour guide is important. We will never forget all those experience and photos that we had!! Amazing!!
I would highly recommend anyone to cooperate with them to enjoy the trip in Himalayas, as well as Kathmandu/Nepal.
I had finished three wonderful holidays in Everest Base Camp (ABC) Trek, Poon Hill Trek and Lang Tang Trek with my Friends from Hong Kong and Mainland China for the past few years. All the trips were organized by an experienced guide leader, Prem Panta. Nepal is a great country for trekking; the culture and scenery are splendid. During our trekking in Nepal, we had very good scenery of high mountains, beautiful ethnic lowland villages and terraces. The trekking offered many magnificent Himalayan mountain views.
Prem and his team members were well trained in all aspects of trekking. They looked after us well, from picking us up from the airport, arranging sight-seeing in Kathmandu and our trekking needs, ending up being good friends. They provided an excellent quality of trekking and travel services to us. These high standards were reflected in their skill, support and professionalism as well as the good quality of accommodations, transportation, and food in our tour. We express our massive thanks to Prem of Landmark Discovery Treks and his team and look forward to seeing Prem again in 2016 Summer for the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trekking."
