This Annapurna Base Camp Trek, 2nd best trekking in Nepal package, offers a superb introduction to rural Nepal and the High Himalaya. Spend a day exploring intoxicating Kathmandu (which still has much to offer, despite the ravages of the recent earthquake) before driving west, through forest and agricultural landscapes to Pokhara. Explore this lakeside city.

Drive to Nayapul and trek through Hindu farming communities, then Tibeto-Berman groups for two days to Ghorepani – to climb Nepal’s most popular physical landmark. A pre-dawn walk up Poon Hill (3 210m/10 530ft) offers a 70km panoramic sunrise that includes Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, fish-tailed sacred Machhapuchhare and Manaslu.

The trail then heads east towards the Modi Khola Valley which carries melt water from the ice fields above. This route offers ample time for acclimatisation for anyone who is reasonably fit and used to walking. At Taglung the trail turns north and heads up the valley, in manageable stages, through a mix of forest and intense agriculture. The numerous villages are attractive and warmly welcoming.

The climax is reached in the spectacular Annapurna Sanctuary amphitheatre where the Machhapuchhare BC, is followed by the Annapurna BC (4 130m/13 550ft). Here you are surrounded by an immense wall of rock and ice rising 4 000m/13 100ft above the hotels on the glacial moraine. The scene at sunrise is breathtaking.

The downward journey is spread over four days. A final short walk leads back to the road for the drive back to your hotel in Pokhara. Fly back to Kathmandu along the Himalayan Range.

If you haven't more time to Annapurna Base Camp Trek and physically uncomfortable, you can join our comparatively easy Annapurna Sunrise Trek of 9 days package.

Great service while booking and during trek with Prem (owner) and Ganesh (our guide) as well as the porters that helped lug our stuff up to ABC. Prem was quick to respond to all my questions before we booked as well as all the time leading up to the trek (3 months from booking to the trek). Our Pokhara flight was cancelled and he quickly arranged car transport for the 4 of us to return to Kathmandu. Helpful, professional and personal service that went above and beyond. Would use Landmark next trek!

Annapurna Base Camp - Trekking

Was my 4th times to do Mountain Trekking with Prem Panta (the Owner of “Landmark Discovery Treks” and the professional Trekking Leader). This time I went with 9 friends from both Hong Kong and US. As usual, the overall arrangements, including lodging, meals, porter-support, local transportation and air-flights (between Kathmandu and Pokhara) were EXCELLENT. Depending on your first day trekking speed + weather forecast, Prem could planned ahead of the following days’ wake-up time, length of morning + afternoon trekking periods and the most relaxing lunch breaks. Watching the snowing mountain range, listening to the fast running water sound and breathing the fresh cool air under the blue sky. Whoever wants to “unplug” yourself and release all the working/living pressure, do plan to do a mountain trekking in Nepal. Highly recommend to contact “Landmark Discovery” whom offer excellent Price and Services to satisfy your trekking expectations and a good story that you can be proud of forever.

For Chinese Speaking person, you can write to me in Chinese for assistance.

Friendly Reminder : Is risky trekking in high altitude without a local leader support.

I had finished three wonderful holidays in Everest Base Camp (ABC) Trek, Poon Hill Trek and Lang Tang Trek with my Friends from Hong Kong and Mainland China for the past few years. All the trips were organized by an experienced guide leader, Prem Panta. Nepal is a great country for trekking; the culture and scenery are splendid. During our trekking in Nepal, we had very good scenery of high mountains, beautiful ethnic lowland villages and terraces. The trekking offered many magnificent Himalayan mountain views.

Prem and his team members were well trained in all aspects of trekking. They looked after us well, from picking us up from the airport, arranging sight-seeing in Kathmandu and our trekking needs, ending up being good friends. They provided an excellent quality of trekking and travel services to us. These high standards were reflected in their skill, support and professionalism as well as the good quality of accommodations, transportation, and food in our tour. We express our massive thanks to Prem of Landmark Discovery Treks and his team and look forward to seeing Prem again in 2016 Summer for the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trekking."
